The second week of Crumpet’s Nail Tart’s 40 Great Nail Art Ideas!
I have a love-hate relationship with Sally Hansen’s trendy releases. By trendy I am referring to the Velvet Texture and Luxe Lace and now the Insta-Ombre and Pearl Crush collections. I know that some collections have become cult classics like the Foil Nail collection, but more often than not I am excited to bring home the polish and then am disappointed once I try it. Once again, I was really excited about Pearl Crush and even more excited about the Insta-Ombre with it’s promise of easy glitter gradients. We’ll see how they actually worked out for me. I really am loving the China Glaze Electric Nights collection, but it really stinks the colors make a poor appearance in photos when I try to share them with everyone! So far all of the colors have been similar in application — a little wet and required three coats, but all are nice polishes even so. I only have two or three more in the collection to try out. Today I used the day glo orange Home Sweet House Music polish.
This is a couple days late for a St Patrick’s day post, but both these polishes could still be used for fun spring nails if put over blue or pink.
I picked up Sinful Colors Shamrockin’ (the darker version) over a month ago. Then I started to see that there was a lighter version out there! I was thinking I would never see it because according to what I was reading online it seemed to be regional which color was stocked. Yet my favorite little corner store, Walgreen’s, had one little bottle sitting out by itself the other day. Be still my heart. Snapped that up quick!
The only difference is that the darker version has little dark green glitters added. Both of them appear to have the same amount of light green circle glitter and white flower glitter. Of all ten nails, only about two of the white flowers came out on their own. The dark and light Shamrockin’ are two easy and natural coats with the exception of fishing for the white flowers. I like this one a lot better than Sinful Colors Love Sprinkles, which I found goopy. I used Sinful Colors Peppered Amazon as my base. It is a lovely bright shimmery green.
